Unlike the viscose rayon or cotton-silk pieces in your set, the Chanderi dupatta is dry-clean only. The zari border is metallic thread work, and hand-washing risks tarnishing or loosening it over time.
Storage matters more than you'd think
- Store folded in muslin, away from direct sunlight — prolonged light exposure fades the ombré gradient faster than wear does.
- Keep the zari border flat rather than hung. Hanging lets the metallic thread's weight pull and distort the border's shape over time.
- Avoid direct contact with perfume or deodorant — the alcohol content in most sprays can mark sheer Georgette permanently.
